This 9-week course is perfect for the absolute beginner. You will be taught everything you need to know to become a barber, from the ground up. This hands-on course will put you on the best path to becoming a great barber, teaching you all the fundamental techniques of the craft. Our tutors will be at your side at all times to supervise you and build your confidence, teaching you everything from how to review the customer’s hair type to cutting to a high standard, including creative cuts, patterns and fades training.

Complete Barbering For Beginners

Let us take you from absolute beginner to complete confidence that you know how to be a great barber. You’ll learn all the fundamentals and techniques of barbering in a hands-on environment. Once you've completed the course, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a master of the trade.

Our Practical Approach
This is a beginners’ course. You will learn techniques on training heads and progress to live models. Our experienced and creative tutors will guide you through various modules, including health and safety, how to look after your equipment, working with different hair types and how to cut pattern designs. With us by your side to answer any questions, you will build your confidence and develop your own creative style. It’s never too late to change career, start a new journey or discover a new skill you’ve always wanted to learn.

Depending on how well you complete the course, and the availability of roles we have in the salon, we may offer you a full-time position as part of our Work It Back scheme.

This course runs for 9 weeks, Monday-Thursday, 9am-4pm.
2 days practical and 2 days observation/theory each week.

Training Location
The course takes place at Decent Cut, located in the city centre in Manchester Arndale. There is easy access via train and tram, and plenty of parking on site.
