This 5-week small-group course for 5-10 students is a great way to do some hands-on learning under the guidance of the Decent Cut professionals. This course, for people of all ages, is a fast-track introduction to becoming a barber and is ideal for those who are still not quite sure what barbering is but know they want to give it a try. The Decent Cut tutors will be at your side at all times to supervise you, build your confidence and help you get some experience under your belt.

Fast-Track Introduction to Barbering

This condensed course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to work within a barbering environment or offering barbering services, in a short amount of time.

Our Hands-On Practical Approach
This beginners’ course is designed to show you the basics and fundamentals of barbering and provide you with a functional working knowledge of how to competently cut different hair types. You will work on training heads initially, followed by further days on live models, and our experienced and creative tutors will be by your side at all times to help give you the confidence you need and guide you in all the skills and techniques. While you may have only a basic understanding of cutting techniques, by the time you finish the course you will be proficient and confident enough with different hair types to give someone a trim. If you like barbering, use the 1-2-1 masterclass courses to build up some more skills before heading on to the advanced course.

This course runs for 5 weeks, Monday-Thursday, 9am-4pm.
2 days practical and 2 days observation/theory each week.

Training Location
The course takes place at Decent Cut, located in the city centre in Manchester Arndale. There is easy access via train and tram, and plenty of parking on site.
